The information contained in documents and oral testimonies, collected over forty years of study, is not intended to be complete, especially since that is not the objective of this work, which, as already mentioned, is limited to publishing a selection of significant photographs taken throughout the history of Engenheiro Coelho.

Professor Edison Fávero collaborated in preparing a summarized text in accessible language, mainly considering the intention of making this publication available to public school students and residents, following the guidelines of a plan developed by the Municipal Department of Education, whose implementation will allow anyone interested to read this work and learn a bit about the history of their community.

After Fávero assumed this task, I began searching for images so that, in this first volume, we could publish drawings, documents, maps, and photographs that would serve our main objective, which is undoubtedly the partial recovery of the iconographic memory of Engenheiro Coelho.

We had the support of numerous collaborators to make this project possible. Among them: Adauto Haman, Professor Agda Maria Haman, Antônio and Geraldo Forner, Ademir Fávero, E.N.A. Produções Fotográficas, Norival Esperança (aerial photos), Claudete Aparecida Soares, Gezinal Jandir, Aparecida Forner Fávero, Rosilene Keila Schalil, José Carlos do Jaccu (Miloca), and other dedicated contributors.

The contribution of our friend Evandro Franchescotti, a biologist, was very important, especially regarding materials dated from before the formation of the settlement that originated the municipality. Evandro traveled to Belgium, the base of the Haman family, in an attempt to obtain support so that this printed photo album could have invaluable worth.

I believe that this first work will inspire residents to explore their private collections, contributing images, documents, and data for future volumes, thus helping to preserve the historical memory of the community.

I congratulate Mrs. Rosemary Magalhães Schloll, current head of the city’s executive branch, who, despite the challenges of public administration, made every effort to carry out this project, believing that all those born in Engenheiro Coelho, as well as those who chose this land to raise their children, will be strengthened by knowing their true roots.
